Why Autumn Will Always Be Our Season
I think anyone who knows me, or has followed Little Lies for a while, probably knows that I wait all year for autumn.
Don’t get me wrong, I love a summer dress and I’ve done my time in cheesecloth, but there comes a point every year when I’m completely over dressing for the heat. I want my layers back. I want boots. I want velvet. I want suede. I want to actually have fun getting dressed again.
Autumn has always been the time of year when Little Lies feels most like me.

The things that have inspired me since the very beginning haven’t really changed. I’ll always come back to the 70s, Fleetwood Mac, warm earthy colours, flares, big sleeves, velvet, suede, leopard print and anything with a bit of fringe. And there’s just something about autumn that makes me want all of it even more.
As soon as the nights start getting darker, I’m ready to rewatch Almost Famous and Daisy Jones & The Six, put Fleetwood Mac on repeat and pretend I should be holed up in some wood-panelled recording studio in the 70s, watching my best friends make an album.
Still waiting on the invite for that one. So, in the meantime, I make clothes.
I love getting to properly layer again. Throwing a kimono over a band tee, putting a suede jacket over a dress, mixing lace with velvet, wearing flares with absolutely everything. I’ve never been someone who wants an outfit to feel too considered or perfect - I like piling things together until it feels right. That’s really where Autumn ’26 came from.
It’s all of my favourite things rolled into one collection: velvet, kimonos, leopard, suede, fringe, big sleeves, flares and those rich colours I naturally come back to year after year.
But as much as I love all of those things, I also wanted this collection to be really wearable.

I know so many of you wait for our autumn drops to find those pieces you’ll wear for the rest of the year, and I think about that a lot when I’m choosing and styling a collection. I don’t want you to buy something that only works for a few weeks. I want the dress you can wear now while there’s still a bit of warmth in the air, then throw on with boots and a jacket later. The kimono you wear over a slip now and a layer it up with velvet when it gets cooler. The denim flares you reach for regardless of what month it is. Those are always my favourite clothes anyway, the pieces that work hard without feeling boring. Comfortable enough to wear on an ordinary Tuesday, but with enough personality to make you feel really bloody good in them.
And honestly, the clothes are only part of why I love this time of year so much.

I want the leaves changing. The first cold morning. Pumpkin spice lattes. Gilmore Girls reruns. Candles everywhere. Practical Magic for the hundredth time. Fleetwood Mac playing even more than usual.
I want all of it.
There’s something about autumn that always feels like coming back to myself a little bit, and I think that’s probably why it has become such a big part of Little Lies too.
The brand has grown and changed so much over the last 11 years, but when I look back, the things I love really haven’t.
I still want the flares. I still want the velvet. I still want leopard print, ridiculous sleeves and fringe on everything.
And Stevie is still on the moodboard.
Autumn ’26 feels like all of those things I’ve always loved, but exactly where I want Little Lies to be right now.
Pieces you can wear your own way, make part of your wardrobe and come back to year after year.
I genuinely can’t wait to see what you do with them.
Big love,
